Interior Insights: Emily Pueringer Design Studio

Breathing life into a home in the heart of Minnesota, our latest Interior Insights takes us inside the beautiful Partridge Place.

Designed by Emily Pueringer, the renovation revives various spaces including the kitchen and mudroom and embraces a modern farmhouse aesthetic, rich with luxurious textures and timeless details. With every impeccably styled space evoking a feeling of warmth and calm, it’s our pleasure to show you around.

The Kitchen

An all-neutral affair that embraces traditional character, the kitchen is a true masterpiece. The various zones in the spacious open-plan room each present an individual design statement that in turn contributes to the captivating visual appeal of the space as a whole.

Emily shares, “The focal point of the new kitchen became a magnificent island, designed not only for functionality but also as a piece of art. With a capacity to seat five, the island features shelves for displaying cherished cookbooks and dinnerware.”

For the counters, a dark quartzite dresses the perimeter to give depth and contrast to the cream-flecked marble island top and over at the Range wall, a Venetian plaster hood with brass trim frames an impressive backsplash.

Showcasing checkerboard tiles with a twist, a contrasting duo of tiles by Tabarka Studio draws the eye, whilst a traditional brass pot rail keeps pots and pans on hand for the homeowners.

Across from the cooking area is a refined living space and dry bar that continue the kitchen’s series of curved arches - a design direction that also appears in the pantry.

Emily notes, “On the opposite side, the custom dry bar features a neutral tiled backsplash and a harmonious blend of wood and painted cabinets to achieve a subtle two-tone look.”

The Pantry

In a colour-drenched forest green shade, the pantry design flows beautifully from the kitchen by highlighting one of the kitchen’s accent colours. Adorned with aged brass hardware inspired by classic styles, the farmhouse design is a storage haven styled effortlessly with uniform glass containers.

The Mudroom

In the charming boot room, patterned floral wallpaper anchors an organic colour scheme. Creating a natural and continual feel as you step in from time spent outdoors, olive green painted cabinets, ivory shiplap panelling and aged brass fixtures bring the aesthetic together in perfect harmony.

Details such as the cabinet vent cut-outs and dark quartzite countertops bring a sophisticated touch and pieces like a humble wooden bench add authentic character to form a space that beautifully channels the countryside aesthetic.
